2. Data Controllers

Primary Controller

AMLÉ (Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn) acts as the primary Data Controller for all personal data submitted via this programme.

Joint Controller

Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (AIB) acts as a Data Controller for prize fulfillment and promotional activities.

Real Event Management Ltd (Real Nation) acts as a Data Processor, managing the event operations on behalf of the Promoters.

3. Information We Collect

  • Personal Identification: Name, date of birth (to verify age eligibility), student status, and Higher Education Institution.
  • Contact Information: Email address and phone number for communication regarding your entry.
  • Entry Details: Information provided in your nomination or application, including your impact story, which may include sensitive personal data if you choose to share it.
  • Media Content: Photographs and video recordings captured during the National Awards Event at Croke Park.
  • Technical Data: IP address and browsing behavior collected via standard web logs and cookies.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • Programme Management: To process, validate, and manage your entry into the awards.
  • Adjudication: To share relevant submission data with our judging panel for scoring and selection.
  • Communication: To provide updates on your entry status and event invitations.
  • Prize Fulfillment: To facilitate the payment of award funds and delivery of trophies.
  • Promotional Activities: To celebrate and publicize student impact through social media, press releases, and archival materials.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data based on several legal grounds:

  • Contractual Necessity: To fulfill the terms of participation in the awards programme.
  • Legitimate Interests: To promote social good, celebrate student achievement, and manage the event effectively.
  • Compliance: To meet legal and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding prize distribution.
  • Consent: Where you have opted in to receive marketing communications or newsletters.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Your information is only shared with parties essential to the operation of the Awards:

  • The Judging Panel: Comprising AIB, AMLÉ personnel, and independent industry experts.
  • Service Providers: Including Real Nation (event management) and our secure web hosting providers.
  • Publicity Partners: Media outlets and social media platforms for the purpose of announced winners and sharing impact stories.

7. Data Retention

Unsuccessful entries: All personal data and submission materials for entrants not shortlisted will be securely destroyed within six months of the awards ceremony.

Winners & Finalists: Basic data including names, HEIs, and impact summaries may be retained indefinitely in our historical archives to preserve the legacy of the awards.
