Terms and Conditions: AIB Student Impact Awards

Please read these terms carefully before participating in the AIB Student Impact Awards 2026.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Access to this Site and the use of information contained on it is governed by the terms and conditions set out below. By proceeding, you are deemed to have accepted them.

References to “The Promoters” refers to Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (“AIB”), its subsidiaries, and Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn (“AMLÉ”). Entry into the Awards will be deemed to be full and unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions by the entrant.

2. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Site is established in Ireland in accordance with and subject to the laws of Ireland. When you use the Site, you accept that your use of the Site and any information on it (including these terms and conditions) will be governed by the laws of Ireland. If any claim or dispute arises, you agree that the Irish courts will have exclusive jurisdiction.

3. Eligibility and Participation

  • Age and Status: To be eligible, each entrant must be over the age of 18. Participation is open to students currently enrolled in a recognized 3rd Level institution (University, Technological University, or Institute of Technology).
  • Geographical Scope: The Awards are open exclusively to nominees and applicants based in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (All-Island).
  • Exclusions: Employees or agents of the Promoters, or anyone professionally connected or affiliated with the adjudication process—including staff at Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c., Real Event Management Ltd, and AMLÉ—are not eligible to enter.
  • Truthful Information: Entrants agree to provide complete and truthful information. The Promoters reserve the right to request additional information or proof of authenticity from the Entrant.
  • Entry Limit: Only one entry is permitted per person. Multiple entries will be disqualified.
  • No Entry Fee: There is no charge to enter the Awards.

4. Submission Requirements and Deadlines

  • Closing Date: The closing date for entries is 20th March 2026 at 11:59pm. The Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any entries received after this deadline.
  • Right to Amend: The Promoters reserve the right to amend, withdraw, extend, or change the submission deadline and any event arrangements without prior notice.
  • Submission Method: Entries must be submitted via the official portal at https://awards.amle.ie/
  • Nominator Responsibility: The Nominator must confirm they have the nominee's express permission to share their data.
  • Media Usage: Entrants acknowledge that entry information and subsequent images may be featured online or broadcast for promotional or educational purposes.
  • Content Standards: Any content deemed offensive, defamatory, or infringing on intellectual property will result in immediate disqualification.

5. Judging and Adjudication

  • Process: Nominations will be assessed by a panel including AIB, AMLÉ, and independent experts.
  • Validation: Shortlisted entrants will be validated to ensure compliance. If a nominee cannot be contacted within 2 days, a substitute may be selected.
  • Binding Decisions: Decisions of the Promoters and the Judges are final and binding in all matters.
  • Quality Floor: Judges are under no obligation to issue an award in a category where no candidate meets the required standard of excellence.
  • Notification: If a nominee has not been contacted by 14 April 2026, they should assume they have not been shortlisted.

6. Awards List and Prizes

The prize breakdown is subject to change at the discretion of the Promoters.

  • Terms: Prizes are non-transferable. No alternative prize or cash alternative will be offered.
  • NI Currency: For winners in Northern Ireland, prizes will be paid in the Sterling/Euro equivalent at market rate.
  • Taxation: Personal tax liability is the sole responsibility of the recipient.

7. National Awards Event

  • Event Details: Shortlisted entries will be invited to a National Awards Event on 28th April 2026 in Croke Park.
  • Photography: Attendees acknowledge that photography and filming will take place and content may be used for promotional purposes.
  • Travel and Insurance: Participants are responsible for their own travel. The Promoters accept no liability for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during travel.

8. Website Ownership and Intellectual Property

This website is owned and operated by AIB and/or AMLÉ.

  • License: Participants grant The Promoters an irrevocable, royalty-free license to use entry materials for promotional and archival purposes.
  • Restriction: All IP relating to the Site belongs to AIB and AMLÉ. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

AMLÉ acts as the primary Data Controller for all personal data submitted via this programme.

Data will be processed by AMLÉ staff, specific judges, and Real Event Management Ltd (Real Nation). AIB will have access for prize fulfillment and promotional activities.

Unsuccessful entry records will be destroyed within six months of the awards ceremony. Data queries: manager@amle.ie.

10. Limitation of Liability

  • General Exclusion: The Promoters exclude all liability for loss or damage arising from participation or use of any prize to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  • Technical Risk: Use of this Site is at the user’s own risk. The Promoters are not liable for technical complications or maltware.
  • Severability: If any term is declared unenforceable, it shall be deemed deleted without affecting the remaining terms.
